Hello All! Just to keep you posted on my adventures here in Antarctica...I've been up to the top of the tall hill between McMurdo Station and Scott Base. It's called Observation Hill, and for good reason, as the view from the top is fantastic. There is a cross on the top in memory of Scott and his party who traversed to the South Pole, and died only 11 miles from his base near McMurdo back in 1902. Today I got to see some seals, as I was cross country skiing along the iceshelf. They were Leopard seals. They, by the way, enjoy eating penguins. It was impressive to see about a dozen of them out sunning themselves. They are very large. It is getting to be mud season here in McMurdo, as some of the snow is melting in town and making it a bit messy walking around. A few more days of good weather, and it'll dry out and get dusty here.
