Hello everyone,

Last night, I had the opportunity to watch the weather observers launch the twice daily weather balloon. There is a building here used by the observer to fill the weather balloons undercover, and then open the huge doors to launch them outsite. The scientists who study the ozone levels use this facility as well.

I wish I had more to report today - but I've been busy working with many folks on station taking care of the loose ends with my project work here before I redeploy in just 2 days.

More Antarctic "terms":

freshies - a reference to fresh fruit and vegtables when they are available

DVs - a reference to the "distinguished visitors" who come to visit the station

That is all from here!

Matthew
